Welcome to the International Friendship Center! We’re so glad you found us. We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to help the UW-Madison international students and international community connect with new friends, practice English in a comfortable and safe environment, and experience the US in unique and genuine ways. Whether you’re visiting Madison, Wisconsin for three months or three years, we invite you to join our in-person and online classes, events, and activities!
The IFC provides free 16 online and in-person classes each week for you to practice English. Our classes are open to internationals in the Madison area and friends of IFC students. We cultivate a safe, comfortable environment that engages and encourages your participation. We also focus on building relationships so that our friendship extends beyond the classroom! We even have unique class offerings like US history, movies, and music discussion!

Come enjoy a traditional summer barbecue at an American’s home! Or maybe you’d like to try Madison’s most popular snow sledding hill? Or perhaps you’d like to spend the weekend with a host family and join them for Sunday church service!
